This is a John Jameson and Son Extra Liqueur Special Dublin Whiskey. It was a 12 year old whiskey destined for the export market. It comes in a unique hexagonal shaped bottle. The whiskey would have been distilled on-site in the old Bow Street Distillery (now closed) in the 1950s. It is getting increasingly difficult to obtain these highly regarded old style pot still whiskeys, as demand from modern day consumers who want to taste and experience the beauty of an old pot still whiskey continues unabated. Please note the term liqueur was to denote age and we can confirm this is pure pot still whiskey.
