Bushmills Single Malt Banyul’s Cask Strength is part of the Causeway Collection launched in 2020. This was the first time in 15 years that Bushmills released whiskey at barrel strength, boosted by unique and unusual cask finishes. This 8 year old single malt is no exception. Initial maturation occurred in ex-bourbon and ex-oloroso sherry barrels. When the time was right, the whiskeys were married in select casks that previously held Banyuls wine, and held there for just over two and a half years. Banyuls is a wine district in the French Pyrenees which specialise in their own distinct red dessert wine. The tube label is slightly off centre as can be seen in the photo but is in good condition
