A celebration bottling for 1 million cases of Highland park sold. This is highland park 12. One of the most complex of all standard expression whiskies. The Highland Park 12 Year Old has a little bit of everything with a characteristic heather and honey note and some well balanced peat smoke.
Long heralded as one of the finest single malt producers in Scotland, Highland Park is one of just two Orkney distilleries and was founded in 1798.
With a commitment to quality from grain to glass the distillery has its own floor maltings and is admired for meticulous cask selection and a mildly peaty flavour character.
Recent releases have featured a bewildering array of whiskies with names referencing Norse mythology and the Viking ancestry of Orcadians. Nonetheless the quality is still evident, and at its best Highland Park still rivals many of the top distilleries in Scotland.
