An extremely rare early example of “Pure Malt” Irish whiskey from The “Old Bushmills” Distillery Company. This bottling has been verified by the Bushmills Archive as a pre-prohibition (pre-1920s) bottling. The exact date is difficult to determine but the closest example of this label can be found in a souvenir Old Bushmills Distillery pamphlet issued for the St Louis World’s Fair 1904. The label and the embossed bottle itself reference ‘The “Old Bushmills” Distillery Co’ as opposed to ‘The Old Bushmills Distillery Co Ltd’ as is more commonly seen on these bottles. The Bushmills Old Distillery Company became The Old Bushmills Distillery Co Ltd in 1896. Based on the information available this bottle is most likely distilled in the 1890s and bottled in the 1900s. No pontil marks or mould numbers on the base. Fill level below the neck.
