233 : The Dalmore King Alexander III
Created by Master Distiller Richard Paterson, the Dalmore King Alexander III has had six different cask finishes - French Wine casks, Madeira drums, Marsala barrels, Sherry Butts, Port pipes & Kentucky Bourbon barrels. Creating a whisky that has a undoubtedly rich flavour profile with notes of berry fruits and crushed almonds.
Named in honour of Alexander III, King of Alba from 1249 to 1286 and the last significant ruler of the royal line descended from Malcolm III Canmore. His reign is widely regarded as a golden age, marked by stability, unity, and independence. Under Alexander’s rule, royal authority was firmly consolidated and Scotland remained prosperous, conditions that would contrast sharply with the prolonged conflict with England that followed his death in 1286.
