How to buy bottles of whiskey, spirits, wine and memorabilia in a few simple steps.
To bid on any lot listed on the website you will need to open an account with us. Registration is simple and can be completed by clicking ‘LOG IN / REGISTER’ here. We charge a one-off registration fee of €5.00 which helps us verify the identity of bidders on the website.
Browse the auction
Use either the search facility, filter at the side of the auction or scroll through the whole auction. You can also search alphabetically or by price.

Bid on a lot
Once you have decided to bid, either enter the maximum bid you would be happy to pay for the item or increase the current bid by the incremental amount. You will be prompted to check if you are happy with terms & conditions before placing each bid. Whichever method you choose, you will see instantly whether you are the highest bidder, whether the reserve price has been met, or whether you need to bid again. We will email if you are no longer the winning bidder. Once your maximum bid is placed our system automatically increases the bid level of the Lot incrementally until it reaches your maximum bid. The bid increments vary based on the current winning bid. Please note that starting bids for bottles is €5.

End of Auction
The end date and time of the current auction will always be clearly displayed on the homepage as well at the top of the current auction pages.
From 8 pm onwards, the software begins to monitor online activity on the Celtic Whiskey Auction site. It will then close the auction at an unspecified time to defend the site against sniper software. As a result, the site will begin the closing process from 8pm onwards rather than closing at a specified time.
From previous experience, it will most likely finish sometime after 9pm. This process will also eliminate any need to rush bids at 8pm.
Winning Lots & Payment
At the end of the auction we will send you an email detailing all winning bids, shipping/collection choices and payment options.
We accept Bank transfer and Credit/Debit Cards. There is a 2% surcharge paying by credit card.
Once you checkout detail payment & delivery/collection method you will receive a final invoice.

Delivery or Collection
Once payment is received, we will contact you with an eta for delivery or to advise your order is ready for collection. We are able to deliver whiskeys to many countries internationally. Our delivery charges & applicable countries are listed here.
Insurance is available at checkout for total breakage and loss only but does not cover minor damage and leakage in transit.
If any issue arises in transit regarding breakage, it is critical to retain all the original packaging and contact us immediately.
Items can be stored with us for combining with future auction purchases and later dispatch. Storage is free for 2 months, After 2 months there is a daily €1 per bottle charge.
10% of the final selling price / hammer Price
Please note VAT (at 23%) is charged to commission, delivery and surcharges. VAT is not applicable to the hammer price of the lots

Late Payment Fee – 2.5% of the total order balance outstanding 7 days following close of auction.
